Ultra Hikes

Below are links to trip reports of endurance "Ultra" hikes / runs I have completed, mostly in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.  I have no official standards for these hikes, most of them are on the longer side, but as long as they're rugged and physically demanding they make this list!

There are the usual suspects on here; Presidential Range Traverse, Pemi Loop, Moriah-Cats-Carter Traverse, Great Range Traverse, as well as some of the more brutal ones; Mahoosuc Range Traverse, Hut to Hut Traverse, Grand Canyon Rim to Rim to Rim, MMD 50K.  However, my favorites are the non-traditional routes, like Isolation through to Owl's Head (2015), The Valley Loop (2017), or my two favorites; Presi & Great Range in one calendar day (2016), and a Hut to Hut with Owl's Head and Isolation (2016).

Mileage and elevation for these hikes up until 2014 were taken from guide books, since then I have been tracking it off of my Garmin Forerunner 910 XT, and now Garmin Forerunner 920XT.  I also use the White Mountain Online Guide for the most accurate mileage and elevation for my New Hampshire hikes.

  1. July 2 my dog Lambeau and I went RT Greenleaf trail over Lafayette to Garfield and Galehead. It was pretty cool coming back over Lafayette at sunset and having the summit to ourselves.
